Volunteering

At the present time we are not looking for volunteers to undertake specific projects for the Grace Third World Fund, over and above those voluntary responsibilities discharged by the trustees.

However in the past volunteer projects have been undertaken. Here is one example below:

Short term service - Paul Richardson

Paul Richardson grew up in the Isle of Man and now works there. He is a familiar face around Peel, being a keen member of the local golf club and having come through the ranks at the QEII HIgh School. As Paul got involved with GTWF in Peel, he felt a burden for India.

Paul in 1998

This resulted in him taking career breaks so he could spend quality time out there making a difference. As well as spending 6 months working in a remote school in the Nilgiri Hills he undertook 2 periods of short term service for GTWF:

  • Experiencing Indian labour and helping out at the Promised Land site in 1998 (see above picture)
  • Re-visiting the site in 2003 to collate information on the various children in the GCH
  • Returning to the Isle of Man and helping update our records and factsheets for the sponsors.
