The Lads of 2003

In addition to major heart surgery that year, there were other orthopaedic operations performed and paid for in 2003.    Three boys, Middey Raju, Lova Raju and  Naga Raju (not related), and a boy with the very British name of Stephenson all went to Chennai for surgery.

Money was raised for two of the Rajus through various means (a year long sponsored hair grow and cut for one!)

Stephenson’s operation was financed by the students of Ballakermeen High School in Douglas, in the Isle of Man, who raised all the money required.

Naga Raju did not need surgery after all; instead he was fitted with a specially designed leg-brace to straighten his knee.
