Get involved!

Placeholder ImageThere are a number of ways you can get involved with our work at GTWF. If you can give financially to the charity that's great. But even if you can't or already do so, you might consider giving of your time and talents to encourage others to give, and raise awareness of ongoing needs.

Organising your own fundraiser for GTWF

Although GTWF has its own fundraising committee which arranges a variety of events (see left), we are still a small charity and it has been a real boost in times past when individuals or groups have taken it upon themselves to organise a fundraiser on our behalf. We are indebted to Dru Hamm for her sponsored walk in last year's Parish Walk in the Isle of Man. Call Ray Richardson on 01624 842734 and talk to him about your idea. How about an auction of promises or perhaps a coffee morning with your club or group?

Invite GTWF to come and speak at your after dinner event, school or organisation

GTWF Chairman, the Rev M F Else, had the opportunity of speaking at a Rotary Club meeting in Douglas last year and periodically goes into Ballakermeen High School in the Isle of Man to engender interest and support for the children in India. However we are always on the lookout for new opportunities to make new friends of GTWF.

Find out more about our work and support our own fundraisers

Do read online all about the different aspects of our work in India, and if you can attend one of our regular events around the Isle of Man, please come along! From time to time we advertise special events on Manx Radio via their Sunday night at the mill community programme, but also in the local press.

India beckons
Finally, if you either sponsor a child or are a regular financial supporter of the charity, you are welcome to join one of our travelling parties to India, to see the supported areas first hand. We should emphasise that trips out to the Grace Children Home and other sites are not for the faint-hearted and should only be considered by those serious about the work. However, a number of GTWF friends have come back from India greatly informed and motivated to keep up their interest in what is being achieved.
