News and developments

As the new web site develops and comes of age we hope to build up a substantial archive of current affairs articles relating to developments at GTWF.

On the left hand side navigation bar you may observe our primary news items, which are linked on every page of the site. Below are further summaries of news in brief:

Rev Matthew F Else

[18-05-2008] With sadness we have to advise that our chairman and founder the Rev Matthew F Else passed away on 18 May 2008. We hope to post a tribute on this site as time permits.

Timothy Babu, manager of the Grace Childrens Home in India came over specially for the funeral and gave a moving tribute about the work done at N G Palem

The work continues in India and any donations to GTWF in memory of Rev Else may be sent, as ever, to the treasurer Mr S Else (details found on the Contacts page - see link bottom left).

A daughter for Timothy and Sheela

[16-10-2007] Grace Children's Home manager Timothy Babu and his wife Sheela are now celebrating the arrival of their first child. A little girl has been born and a name is currently being decided upon. Timothy and Sheela have been married for three years now and a number of GTWF trustees were able to join them for their engagement celebrations early in 2004.

We wish them all the very best at this happy time and over the next few months. The planned travelling party originally scheduled for September is now going out in November and looks forward to seeing the young family.

Proposal to acquire further land at Promised Land site

Talks are currently underway to investigate the feasibility of acquiring an additional parcel of land adjoining the grounds of the GCH in N.G. Palem. This would enable greater self-sufficiency of the home due to the potential to grow more cash crops. Additional land purchased in previous occasions has enabled the planting of high cash yield crops such as teak trees and bananas.
